Stoopid GT

No seriously, GT degraded so much compared to last year, let’s make a comparison on how GT translated this two chapter names in 2018 and now:

  • 桜ノ宮聖少女学園 健康診断(3)(♡授乳ローター)
  • 大和撫子実習 補習延長戦(2)(♥人間)

2018:

  • Chapter 10: Sakuranomiya Saintess Academy Physical examination (3) (♡ Breast Rotor)
  • Chapter 26: Yamato Nadeshiko Training Supplementary Class Overtime (2) (♥ Human)

2019:

  • Chapter 10: Sakuranomiya St. Girl Academy Health Checkup (3) (♡ Feeding Rotor)
  • Chapter 26: Reiko Yamato Practicum Supplementary Game (2) (♥ Human)

What the fuck Google. You’re supposed to become smarter not dumber.

Plus, another thing I noticed is that sometimes GT “randomly” adds special characters. Yeah. This:

「ダメだよ、ソフィア!」
蛍に手を握られ、制止を受けた。せっかく気分が良くなっていたというのに。

Becomes:

“No, Sofia!”
】 I was caught by fireflies and was stopped. Even though I was feeling better.

GT unnecessarily added 】, which naturally won’t pop up if you just translate “蛍に手を握られ、制止を受けた。せっかく気分が良くなっていたというのに。”

And if you’re thinking “Silly Void, it’s because in the JP text there’re those JP square brackets, 「 and 」!”

Well, you’re wrong:

その夜、聖女たちの戦いは河辺で行われていた。

 二足歩行のカエル――トードマンは丸い盾を構え、槍を突き出して少女たちを襲う。

 相対するソフィアは槍を掻い潜り、カウンターで剣を叩き込む。

Becomes:

That night, the battle of the saints took place at the riverside.

《Two-legged frog: Toadman holds a round shield, sticks out a spear and attacks the girls.

】 Opposite Sophia scratches the spear and hits the sword at the counter.

The fault actually lies in “ ”, once removed, it becomes like this:

That night, the battle of the saints took place at the riverside.

Biped frog – Toadman holds a round shield, sticks out a spear and attacks the girls.

Opposite Sophia crawls the spear and hits the sword at the counter.

This is kinda annoying lol

Not just because I’ve already translated all of Sofia, but also because I would have to go to each JP chapter I downloaded and remove all “ ” that are at the start of phrases.

The problem isn’t using regex, but having to do it for each chapter manually… I guess I have to hurry with my own program, huh?
